Sahaqialis, Throne of the Turning Wheel
Fellowship Council
The leadership of Sahaqialis falls to the forty-nine democratically elected leaders that make up the Fellowship Council.
The council projects itself as more high-minded and cooperative than the more hierarchical power structures of the other Thrones. However, it’s ultimately a mess of entangled political alliances, bribery, and old grudges.
While the multitude of voices within the council offers the opportunity for cooperation, it’s also a vector for outside meddling. Spies and courtiers from every other High Throne work tirelessly to manipulate council members toward the goals of others.
The Flying City
The body of Sahaqiel has remained buoyant after the Angel’s demise. Huge, even by Seraphic standards, the mass of clay-like flesh and metallic embellishment floats listlessly across the landscape.
The intrepid founders of Sahaqialis have managed to secure the corpse to the degree that it no longer wanders the plains, threatening to flatten anything it happens to graze against. Though the chains that bind the Angel hold its position relatively still, the city perched on top of the holy corpse still tends to sway gently amid gusts of wind.
The craftsmen of Sahaqialis have done their best to maintain the integrity of the floating body while harvesting the valuable corpus from their Patron. The silhouette of Sahaqiel remains largely unchanged under the spires of buildings that rise from its upper surfaces. Aside, of course, for the gaping hole in the lower torso, blasted open in an act of violence that almost certainly occurred during the Divine War. Its left leg, right hand, and left foot were also cleaved free from the main body and reattached with the assistance of manmade chains. These elements remain floating independently of each other, connected by passageways of rope and chain to accommodate the syncopatic sway between the islands of corpus.
