I've been receiving a mounting number of questions about the delivery time for the 2nd printing of Angelarium: Book of Emanations. Many of you have made pre-orders that have lingered for much longer than the estimated delivery date.
I took the pre-orders down as soon as I lost sight of when the book was going to be delivered and made a promise to myself that I wouldn't collect more money book orders until I had delivered the ones I'd already received. Thankfully, this update is coming with good news.

The second book in the Angelarium series is moving forwards really nicely. I'm happy to announce that Eli Minaya is going to reprise his role as writer and artist on the series. He's going to be creating alternate pieces for all the Seraphim as well as writing poetry and short fiction for the majority of the Watchers.
The piece poetry for Sariel is the first new piece from Eli that was made for the book. He'll be writing new pieces for every release and possibly a short story here and there.

The first of the Archangels is a big event for me. They are on a scale as grand the Emanations but with the elemental sort of character as the Seraphim. Instead of representing individual properties the way most angels do, they are a higher order of being. They are complicated, compound representations that require far more work to create.
Gabriel is the first to be realized. Their core themes focus on the emerging of ideas and the inspiration process. The lore that surrounds them always centers on their role as a messenger or herald. The lantern of Gabriel was something I wanted to represent but I needed to avoid depicting something too modern. I decided to deconstruct the idea into something more geometric to represent the ideal of a lantern.

Art by Matt Mrowka
When I first designed Asbeel, I didn't think anyone was going to like him. He seemed too strange and too dark for my audience. That turned out to be dead wrong. You guys have supported me when I want to make dark and strange art. It's been a great experience.
Indulging in making darker art has also connected me with amazing artists with dark tastes like Matt Mrowka. He's someone I am leaning on quite heavily to figure out a solution to the many questions I get about custom Angelarium tattoo designs.
My current experiment is to have guest contributors create their own take on the Watchers. The first is Matt Mrowka's take on Asbeel, Angel of Ruin. Matt has built his own themes on top of the existing structure of my painting to make something that is unique to both of us. It's wonderful to see.

Despite ordering what I thought was an ambitious number of books, we've basically sold out. It sneaked up on me while I was in the process of arranging the second printing. When I thought we had a few month's worth of inventory remaining, we were actually running right down to the last copy.
I've ordered a second printing of the book with a modified cover and dust jacket. Anyone owning the first printing of the book will be able to recognize it by the fact that the text on the spine runs counter the standard direction. The second printing will feature Yesod on the dustjacket and the spine's text has been modified.
Anyone who had orders already made through the site are having their first books delivered as intended. So, this will only effect people making orders after I've labeled it as 'backorder'. Those will ship in around 8 weeks.

The 10th in the Watchers series has arrived and he's one of my favorites. There was a profound sense of flow working on this one. No anxiety, no blocks. Without the time restrictions imposed by a travel schedule, I was able to comfortably spend time focusing on what I wanted to accomplish with this painting. Many of my favorite icons ended up slipping into the piece as a result.
Samshiel represents power that has been snuffed out. While he typically represents the sun, I wanted to create a figure that was formerly associate with the sun, but now exists without it. The burning embers at his feat and behind his mask still betray his origins, but he's a creature of shadow now.
